What's In a Name

The other day I was hanging some pictures that I finished making.  Post to soon follow.  But anyhow, I took down an old picture.  What to do with this giant canvas.  And then the light bulb went off.

Since it's no spending March I had to make do with things on hand.  Which was easier then I thought.

I used chipboard letters I had bought some time ago.  White spray paint and white latex paint that I had on hand.  My old canvas that was getting a face lift.

First I used one coat of paint with primer to cover my canvas.  Once it was dry I used E6000 to glue my letters to my canvas.  Then a coat of spray paint.  Which I didn't like the way it covered so I picked up my handy brush and brushed on two more coats of my latex.  So easy.

I had the hardest time taking pictures of this.  Every one I took had tons of shadows.  This was the best one.

It hangs on the wall opposite the front door.  This is the very first thing you see when you come into our house.  Love it.  The best thing it didn't cost anything.  Oh, yeah!!

  1. Great idea! I have a canvas just about that size that I won't part with because I knew I'd figure out something to do with it one day, lol. Thanks!
